Valentines dayGo straight to the Valentines Day recipes
Christmas is such a busy time of the year so in January and February we try to forget all about Christmas food and give our tummies some rest. For many New Year's resolutions and a constant struggle to keep the promises is of vital importance (and we all know most of the thinking behind this battle is about food). It strikes me that Valentines Day is just about the time when most of these promises fly through the window.
If I am honest, I wasn't always a big fan of Valentines Day. I never thought about it being a proper holiday. But everything has changed when Marusa has started going to school. Two years ago, after returning back from school, she brought a pile of Valentines cards, small Valentine gifts and even sweets and cookies in the shape of Valentine hearts. It was so sweet to watch my daughter's joy when she scrupulously analysed every single item. She spent days making Valentine gifts for her friends with little pink Valentine hearts and writing the cards - all pink. That was the moment when my non-romantic heart and soul started melting. I went over my old beliefs and started discovering everything about this wonderful holiday of love and attention.
It's not a surprise then that my daughter is over the moon when we start preparations for Valentines Day. It's a team work at its best! I help her with all crafty-things making Valentine gifts and she helps me in the kitchen baking something "Valentine-ish" sweet and yummy. Needless to say that is some great fun!
I would like to share with you some of these yummy Valentines Day recipes but remember, none of them matters more than telling your family and friends how much you love them and that they make your life complete and special.
